It was where chewing gum was invented as well as Ivory soap. We will also visit Historic Richmondtown as well as Snug Harbor the former Home for Decrepit and Sailors. ( no kidding- that was its name). it is now an Art Center as well as an amazing Botanical Garden. You will also learn the connection Staten Island has with Giovanni da Verrazano as well as Henry Hudson and how it has played a role in the history of NYC.
